Hi Jan,
while sitting at my computer and being absolutely unamused about working
I thought about some nice German translations for ‘Apple Size Golden Clitoris’.
I like the album, especially your ballads. Your voice is absolutely impressive
in the songs with slow melodic passages. Really GREAT!
Now my translations: The direct and boring translation might be: EINE APFELGROSSE
GOLDENE KLITORIS.. not very poetic! The most lyrical would be: EINE GÜLDENE
KLITORIS VON DER GROSSES EINES APFELS.. sounds like something from the 18th
century. A very rude one would be: EIN GOLDENER KITZLER, SO GROSS WIE EIN
APFEL.. not so nice. Another one which conveys the sense and is quite relaxing
would be: EINE KLITORIS, EINEM GOLDGLÄNZENDEN APFEL GLEICH... Hmm this
is sort of modern poetry..not slam poetry.. quite lyrical! Well I have to
leave the clitoris now (what a pity) and get back to work. Dr. Frau Marion.

Dear Jan,
what can I say? The title track is FANTASTIC!! I laughed my pants off for
ten minutes. I brought it to work today and the woman who I share an office
with are now raving fans. They bought three copies. It was a great move to
make it and I LOVE the one about the woman in the Delhi. Helen Mitchell.

Hello Jan,
many thanks for the copy of the new album.. gosh you work fast! (Recieved
three weeks after I played drums on it). I was about to drop you a line
and see how the rest of the recording went and lo and behold the CD arrived
in the post! WOW!! Well done! Are you pleased with it? It sounds really
good. You have done some great things with your songs. Richard Newby (Drummer).

Hi Jan,
just wanted to send you congratulations for your marvelous new album.I love
it! Especially the track ‘September Slow’. Your songs make me feel what
is called ‘Saudades’ in Portugese. There is neither a word in English or
German for it but it is something like ‘longing’ or ‘desire’. I really love
exploring the world and getting to know new places and when I feel trapped
in this city I listen to your songs. Sabine. Bielefeld. |

Hiya my favourite songwriter!
For the first time I had the opportunity to properly listen to your new
A.S.G.C. album today..a lovely mixture of laughs and old song friends. The
title track... ENORMOUS!!.. such potential as a film soundtrack! ‘Good For
You’.. Jan goes Rock n Roll (what a bummer) and Diane’s Sax sounds splendid!
I still laugh at ‘I Love My Guitar’ and ‘Doris in the Delhi’ and the new
ending puts a grin on my face. ‘Switzerland’.. I only heard it once before.
YES YES YES ! What could be more different to Hackney. But it should be called
‘Hymn to Hackney’.’Last Night’.. very cute.. raises the spirits. Well I
just LOVE your songs. This album is another one in a long row of spirit-raisers.
Bye the way I think it is SUPERB FUN! Have a lovely weekend.. Susi Golnick.
